Book Title: Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End
Author: Atul Gawande
Publisher: Anchor Canada (2014)

Description: I consider this book as a revolutionary against medicine, acute care and long-term care. The author advocates for community engagement and support for elderly people whom the implications of aging which the normal medical breakthroughs cannot treat and cure in the hospital and long-term care facilities. It is a great read for social workers and other health professionals who spend time with diverse clients who may need care and support in the community to enhance their quality of life.
